UNDERSTANDING GOD'S PLAN FOR YOU

A person without Christ has no resources outside of himself to deal with the problems that smack him in the face every day. But a Christian can handle any problem or frustration by using the resources available to him through Jesus Christ.

A Christian is someone who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. But that relationship is not something you are born with, or earn, or buy.

The rest of this page is dedicated to provide simple guidelines for understanding God’s Plan for You.

Find another Christian to help you In making your decision for Christ. If unable to do that, follow these steps privately, with sincerity, and then go as soon as possible to share about your decision with a Christian friend.

Man’s Sin Problem: "For all men have sinned, and come short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23; see also:Ecclesiastes 7:30).

PENALTY FOR SIN: "For the wages of sin Is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord," (Romans 6:23; see also:Proverbs 14:6).

CHRIST’S PROVISION: "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us," (Romans 5:8; see also: John 3:16).

THE PROMISE FOR FAITH: ‘That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation," (Romaris 10:9-10; see also: John 1:12).

AN INVITATION: Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near." Do it now— "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."

A PRAYER FOR SALVATION: "Lord Jesus, I confess to you that I am a sinner. I believe that you died for my sins, and that God has raised you from the grave. I ask you to forgive me and to save me from my sin right now! Thank you for saving me, and for starting me on the road to eternal life and fellowship with You and Your people. Amen."

FIRST STEPS OF DISCIPLESHIP:

PUBLIC CONFESSION: Share with another Christian or with a local congregation what has taken place in your relationship with God (Matthew 10:32-33).

PUBLIC BAPTISM AND CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: God wants you to grow into a mature child of His—to become more and more like Jesus. Baptism, is an ordinance of the church, and is the initial way to Identify with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection (Acts 2:38, 41). Obedience means that when you ask Jesus Into your life, you allow Him in as the owner, not just as a guest. Unite with a local church, and there by find nurture, support, and training for living out your new commitment.
