Brother Mike answered the call to ministry in 1983, and was ordained in 1984 by the KY/TN. New Liberty Association of General Baptist. He completed the General Baptist Ministries Home Study and received a Certificate of Pastoral Ministries in 1986 through the Christian Education and Publications Board of General Baptist.  Mike served 3 years as Pastor of Shady Grove General Baptist Church in Martin, TN. He preceded to serve 10 years at Belews Chapel General Baptist Church in Bradford, TN.  Brother Melton's ministry at Sandy Point General Baptist Church began in September of 2000.  Presently he is serving his 2nd-three year term as Representative to the Council of Associations of General Baptist and Board Member of General Baptist International.
